Local Labour candidate Carol Mochan was out in Cumnock last Saturday with fellow Trade Unionists to highlight Scottish Labour's support for people in the workplace.
Carol said ' Keir Hardie would approve of Labour and the Trade Unions standing together in support of rights at work. We were also highlighting Scottish Labour's plans to combat austerity. Scottish Labour will use the powers of the Scottish Parliament to defend jobs and services from Tory austerity. We will use the new Scottish Rate of Income Tax to raise an extra 1p in the pound to protect jobs and services. We will introduce a top rate of income tax of 50p on those earning £150,000 or over in Scotland so that those with the broadest shoulders contribute the most. Labour in the Scottish Parliament, will reverse George Osborne’s tax cut for the top 15% and invest in our public services. '
