Dear Editor
Whilst Adam Ingram and I have some political differences, I would like to wish him well following his decision to stand down from Holyrood in 2016. When he announced his resignation he indicated he wished to 'hand over the baton to a younger person'. He went on to say at the next elections he will be 65 and wants to do new things. I hope that he will enjoy his retirement and his new pursuits. I know Adam has always done his best for his constituents and remember seeking his assistance in 2010 when the SNP Council tried to close our local playgroup. Adam at that time was Minister for Children and Early Years. As someone who has always been active in my community I know how important it is to have easy access to your MSP. One of the reasons I am standing to be the next MSP for this area is that I believe there are real advantages in electing someone local who lives locally and is bringing up their family here - someone already committed to the best interests of Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley.
